VPK Guidelines
One important program for funding in the state of Florida is the VPK (Voluntary Pre-Kindergarten) program, which offers state subsidized tuition for 4-year-old programs.
The VPK program is administered through the local early learning coalitions.
According to Florida Statute 1002.55(b), as well as the Florida Office of School Choice, a private preschool may participate in the Voluntary Prekindergarten program if they are recognized by one of the following programs:

- Be accredited by an accrediting association that is a member of...the Florida Association of Academic Nonpublic Schools, or be accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools.
- Hold a current Gold Seal Quality Care designation...; or,
- Be licensed.
